A low voter turnout is expected on the Central Coast today. More than 50 percent vote by mail in Santa Cruz County. 68 percent vote by mail in Monterey County. Monterey County elections officials have reported over 110,000 ballots were sent out and about 30,000 have come back. The primary elections saw the lowest turnout in the state’s history. The polls are now open. Voters can turn in their vote by mail ballots in person to polling places at any time.
