The 62 Cal-Fire firefighters, still working to fully contain the Loma Fire, are very close to their objective. Although it was incorrectly reported (by Cal-Fire) last week as fully contained, the 44-hundred 74 acre wildland blaze, burning near Loma Prieta and Loma Chiquita Roads (in southern Santa Clara County) is actually 98 percent contained. The Loma Fire has destroyed 12 homes and 16 outbuildings, and damaged another home . The cause of the blaze is still being investigated.
