It may be a first… loggers and environmentalists joining together.
The two groups will join forces to preserve two large redwood forests in the Santa Cruz mountains. The goal is to preserve the land from development. The peninsula open space trust will buy the land from Big Creek Lumber for over 11-million dollars.
The deal includes two pieces of property; one near Gazos creek and the other is the Valencia Creek redwoods in Aptos. Together the land is roughly the same size as seven football fields.
