The lockdown at North Monterey County Middle School in Castroville was lifted about 45 minutes after it was put in place today. The lockdown was put in place in the noon-time hour, while police activity was taking place at a nearby house. Local law enforcement officers were serving an eviction notice, when they saw a car in the Blevins Way driveway that was known to belong to a felon wanted in connection with a car-jacking. Back-up was called and the nearby middle school was put on lock-down as a precaution. Today was the first day since last week that North Monterey County High School wasn’t on lockdown after officials there received multiple email threats last week. None of the threats were found to be credible, but the high school was kept on lockdown as a precaution.
