The city of Santa Cruz will be presenting a check to a local nonprofit today. The organization Hope Services will be given a check of over $17,000, the proceeds collected from the 2014 Parking for Hope holiday parking program. Between December 18th and the 25th, the money fed into meters in the downtown area was designated for donation to Hope Services. The nonprofit provides training and support services to adults with developmental disabilities. The check will be presented during today’s city council meeting.
