SANTA CRUZ/MONTEREY COUNTIES – A consumer protection lawsuit has been settled in a number of California Counties, including Santa Cruz and Monterey. The suit charged that the company “My Pillow, Incorporated” advertised that its pillows (and other bedding products) could mitigate a variety of medical issues, even though the company had no scientifically-collected data to support its claims. My Pillow has agreed to pay $995,000 in civil penalties, and another $100,000 in direct contributions to several non-profit organizations that provide sleeping accommodations for people who have suffered domestic violence.
