WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca has offered itself as the location where thousands of graduating high school seniors could get their diplomas.
Monterey County Superintendent of Schools Deneen Guss told board members Wednesday that managers of the iconic famous racetrack have offered to host drive-thru graduation ceremonies for Monterey County high schools.
Guss said specific plans are being worked out. She and other school officials plan to tour the raceway Friday afternoon to see how the graduation ceremonies might take place.
She added that at least half a dozen high schools have expressed interest in Laguna Seca graduations.
