Today marks the seventy-third year in which local news-talk radio station KSCO first launched its operations.
The station was founded in 1947 by Charles Vernon Berlin.
KSCO changed owners once to Fuller-Jeffrey Broadcasting and was a music format featuring local news in its early days before flipping to all news and talk shows.
The station was acquired by current-owner and host of the Saturday Special Michael Zwerling in 1991, and the station once held the call sign KLRS.
KSCO continues to serve California’s Central Coast with its 10,000 watt signal.
