Although a local neurosurgeon, accused of molesting children and committing malpractice on surgical patients, did not have to appear in court for his hearings this week, Santa Cruz County Superior Court Judge John Salazar has ordered him to appear for his preliminary examination October 1st. 58 year-old former-doctor James Kohut faces 48 felony charges in connection with molesting numerous children. Kohut remains in Santa Cruz county jail.
