The preliminary hearing for a former Santa Cruz neurosurgeon (and his co-defendants) is scheduled to resume later this month. James Kohut, Rashel Brandon, and Emily Stephens have been accused of not only being involved in a child sex ring, but in sexually abusing Brandon and Stephen’s children (as well as others). Santa Cruz County Superior Court Judge John Salazar is expected to make a ruling October 26th, on whether there is enough evidence to take the Kohut-Brandon-Stephens case to trial.
