Attorneys for former neurosurgeon and accused child rapist James Kohut are seeking a bail reduction from $15-million to $1.5-million after a state court ruled that bail amounts much be something the defendant can afford.
Kohut’s attorneys say his net worth is $1.5 million and they are requesting bail to be set in that amount. The 58-year-old Kohut is accused of raping and sodomizing children as young as age 3 and faces 48 felony counts. A hearing is set for September 14th.
