June 29, 2016: Marijuana Legalization Initiative Qualifies for November Ballot

(07:44) CALIFORNIA – An initiative to legalize marijuana in California has gathered enough signatures to qualify for the November ballot. On Tuesday, the Secretary of State’s office announced that the number of valid signatures collected reached over 402,000, exceeding the required amount to qualify for the ballot. Secretary of State Alex Padilla is expected to certify the measure in the next few days. If the measure is approved in November, California will join Colorado, Oregon, Washington, and Alaska in the legalization of recreational marijuana use. (S.G.)
