(12:53) SALINAS- Authorities are investigating a fatal traffic accident that took place on Saturday near Salinas. Investigators say the collision occurred in the southbound lanes of Highway 101 near Esperanza Road when a Salinas resident in a Honda failed to see a Yukon and pulled into the path of the vehicle. The driver of the Honda was pronounced dead at the scene. Drugs and alcohol do not appear to be a factor in the crash.
