(18:44) SANTA CRUZ- The Save Our Shores and Save The Waves Coalition organizations will honor Dr. Charles Lester. Dr. Lester, the former Executive Director of the California Coastal Commission will be recognized by Save Our Shores, on World Oceans Day June 8th, on Twin Lakes Beach in Santa Cruz. Two day later in San Francisco, Save The Waves will honor Dr. Lester as an outstanding environmentalist as part of their 10th Anniversary “Life is a Wave” event for his contributions in protecting our waves and coasts.Dr. Lester has been a longtime steward of California’s coastline and a defender of the Coastal Act, until he was forcibly removed from his post at the CCC in February.
