(08:54) WATSONVILLE – Watsonville officials have proposed an ordinance that would impose taxes on businesses selling medical cannabis. On Tuesday, the city council voted to add a measure to the November ballot that would require the businesses to pay a $20 per square foot tax on a cultivated area, as well as taxes on gross receipts from cannabis sales. The measure has been proposed in preparation of a statewide measure that would legalize the recreational use of marijuana if passed in November. (S.G.)
