(07:41) CARMEL – Carmel city officials are expected to appoint a new council member during a special meeting Wednesday afternoon. The council seat opened up in April after former councilman Steve Dallas was elected mayor. A dozen individuals have applied for the position. The selected applicant will serve the remainder of Dallas’ term then run for election in 2018. The meeting is expected to begin at 3:30 p.m. at City Hall Chambers. (S.G.)
