(10:40) The City of Salinas Animal Shelter is encouraging pet owners to check their local shelters for missing pets. According to Animal Control most lots pets get brought to the shelter the night of and days after July 4th. During this time last year, 34 dogs and 2 puppies were brought in and 11 returned to their families. This year 22 dogs and 2 puppies were turned in, but only 6 returned so far. Owners have 3 days to claim their pets before they go up for adoption, at the City of Salinas Animal Shelter. To view a list of lost pets visit: cityofsalinas.org.
