(08:05) SANTA CRUZ COUNTY – The marketers of a dietary supplement have reached a settlement in Santa Cruz County after being sued for deceptive advertising. The makers of Procera AVH have agreed to pay $1.4 million stemming from civil complaints filed by the county’s DA’s Office and the Federal Trade Commission. The suit alleges that the marketers deceived consumers with claims that the supplement was clinically proven to improve memory, mood, and other cognitive functions. The defendants, Brain Research Labs, LLC and George Reynolds, will be prohibited from making deceptive claims in the future and from misrepresenting the existence, results, or conclusions of any scientific study.
