(07:49) SANTA CRUZ COUNTY – The California Highway Patrol will be in maximum enforcement mode across the Central Coast over the Fourth of July weekend. Additional CHP patrol units will be out on the roads beginning tonight at 6 p.m. Motorists are being encouraged to prepare for congestion in Santa Cruz County on Highway 17 and northbound Highway 1. Traffic is also expected on the 101 from Salinas to Gilroy. Dozens of DUI arrests were made in both Santa Cruz and Monterey counties last year. Anyone who spots an intoxicated driver is urged to contact 9-1-1. (S.G.)
