(08:02) SANTA CRUZ – Water rescue crews responded to two incidents during stormy conditions in Santa Cruz this week. In the first incident, a swimmer was caught in a rip current near the mouth of the San Lorenzo River. He was able to swim to safety and declined medical attention. In the second incident, two men were in a boat off the Santa Cruz Municipal Wharf when their motor failed. A rescue jet ski brought both men back to the wharf safely. County officials are reminding the public that a high surf warning remains in effect until 2 p.m. today. (S.G.)
