(16:51) GILROY- A vehicle pursuit ended with a four car crash on Highway 101 in Gilroy early Saturday. The incident began shortly before 3 a.m. when officers attempted to pull over a speeder in Gilroy. The driver sped off and police briefly pursued before losing sight of the vehicle. Moments later the vehicle crashed through freeway fencing and collided with three southbound vehicles. At the scene the CHP found two occupants of the suspect vehicle in the northbound lanes with critical and serious injuries. The three occupants of the other vehicles were transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The Freeway was closed in both directions for close seven hours as an investigation was performed.
