(11:00) Santa Cruz – According the Santa Cruz California Highway Patrol an armed robbery turned into a high speed chase on Highway 17 today (Thursday). Officers reported that around 10 a.m. a white Chrysler, with a disabled plate, fled the Scotts Valley area, going about 90 miles per hour on northbound highway 17. The driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle and went over an embankment. Reportedly shots were fired from a Scotts Valley officer. One person has been detained and the second suspect is still being sought. We will keep the public updated as new information becomes available.
