(08:52) SANTA CRUZ – The community is invited to attend an open house event this week to learn about the progress of plans for the Coastal Rail Trail. The project will include a multi-use path running from Natural Bridge Drive to Pacific Avenue near the wharf. Construction on the 2-mile segment is expected to begin in early 2017 and take one year to complete. The project is part of the Santa Cruz County Regional Transportation Commission’s Monterey Bay Sanctuary Scenic Trail Master Plan. The open house will be held on Thursday from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the Santa Cruz Police Department Community Room. (S.G.)
