(11:11) SALINAS – A Pacific Grove man was arrested in Salinas Tuesday night on drug and theft charges. Deputies were dispatched to the area of San Benancio and Corral De Tierra roads following reports of an individual stealing property out of cars. 23-year-old Jeffrey Rutt was spotted at the scene. The suspect led deputies on a vehicle pursuit before crashing into a creek off Highway 68. Rutt fled on foot and was apprehended shortly after. A search of his car recovered drugs and a number of stolen items. Rutt was booked into Monterey County Jail. (S.G.)
