(08:20) MONTEREY – Monterey officials have lowered fire restrictions at Los Padres National Forest. The Monterey Ranger District has made the decision following recent rainfall. Under the lowered restrictions, visitors will be allowed to have campfires and use charcoal barbeques in all areas of the forest. The use of tracer ammunition and fireworks as well as unpermitted welding, grinding or cutting is still prohibited and all off-highway vehicles must have spark arresters.
