Here is Kay Zwerling: Why the Fairness Doctrine is Anything but Fair Legislation currently is before Congress that would reinstate Federal Communications Policy known outright as the Fairness Doctrine. It is being sponsored in both the Senate and the House by the Democrats who are determined to resurrect this foolish and unfair law. It would codify a 1949 FCC regulation that once required broadcasters to afford reasonable opportunity for the discussion of conflicting views of public importance. The Fairness Doctrine was overturned by the FCC in 1987. The FCC discarded the rule because, contrary to its purpose, it failed to encourage the discussion of more controversial issues. The American Left is totally comfortable with the current politically unbalanced liberal media, that is, the print media and much of the radio and TV media excepting for Fox news. Newspapers, magazines, and TV like ABC, NBC, CBS, and CNN deal primarily with concerns and opinions of the Democrats and omit opinions and issues of concern to the Republicans. The Democrats are uncomfortable with successful radio news talk programs, like Rush Limbaugh’s, and numerous other conservative radio talk hosts, and radio is primarily the one media outlet which the conservatives have. The liberals failed in radio because they whined and complained about everything, and never presented solutions. Their conversation was toxic. The only way the Fairness Doctrine could be fair would be if the conservatives would also be given the right to respond in print to newspaper stories, and radio and TV responses to liberal news interpretations. But that will never happen. Clearly, the Democrats want to reinstate the Fairness Doctrine so that they can control any opposition from the conservatives, by receiving equal time on all conservative programs. One wonders why the liberals are always threatened by different points of view. Can it be that their opinions are often impractical, illogical, or are unable to withstand scrutiny? It is rightfully argued that the Fairness Doctrine can interfere with the First Amendment. And, my hope is that despite the Democrat’s desire to reinstate the Fairness Doctrine, this one-sided politically conceived law will be voted down because it is unfair. The following is an encore presentation. A KSCO commentary. Here is Kay:

For some time a primary irritation of mine has been the arrogant and stupid edict created by liberal extremists who about 25 years ago ordained that we all should abide by their rules of social behavior which they decided to call political correctness. I never bought into that rigid humorless nonsense. And now most of us who think with logic and not with liberal selective feelings can see the destructive havoc political correctness has created. Much of the damage has been to our children many of whom are adults who are spoiled bewildered and dependent – the ones I have said were cheated out of having any parameters.

And now the religious aspect of political correctness. When Minister Joe Wright was asked to open the new session of the Kansas Senate everyone was expecting the usual generalities but this is what they heard:

“Heavenly Father we come before You today to ask Your forgiveness and to seek Your direction and guidance. We know Your Word says ‘Woe to those who call evil good’ but that’s exactly what we have done. We’ve lost our spiritual equilibrium and reversed our values. We confess that we have ridiculed absolute truth of Your Word and call it pluralism. We have exploited the poor and called it the lottery. We have rewarded laziness and called it Welfare. We have killed our unborn and called it choice. We have shot abortionists and called it justifiable. We have neglected to discipline our children and called it building self-esteem. We have abused power and called it politics. We have coveted our neighbors’ possessions and called it ambition. We have polluted the air with profanity and pornography and called it freedom of expression. We have ridiculed the time-honored values of our forefathers and called it enlightenment. Search us O God and know our hearts today and cleanse us from every sin and set us free. Amen.”

The response was immediate. A number of legislators walked out during the prayer in protest. In six short weeks Central Christian Church where Reverend Wright is Pastor logged more than 5 000 phone calls with only 47 of those calls responding negatively. The church is now receiving international requests for copies of this prayer from India Africa and Korea. If possible please pass this prayer on to your friends. If you don’t stand for something you will fall for everything.

Download from our website: Download this Podcast here The following is a KSCO commentary. Here is Kay Zwerling: What I am about to disclose to you is unbelievable and disappointing. Having always looked upon the British government and its people as closest to Americans in our thoughts of respectful human rights and assessment of different religions, it is with sadness and shock to learn the British Union of Colleges and Universities, a labor organization representing 125,000 British academics, have chosen to opine to the world on human rights, democracy, and peace in the Middle East. This organization will not denounce Iran, which is developing nuclear weapons and has declared its intent to obliterate Israel. Neither will it denounce Saudi Arabia, which executes prisoners in public by stoning and beheading, and which is widely known to finance terrorism around the region. Nor does it care that Syria, which holds sham elections and tolerates Hamas - or Egypt, where opponents of the government are tried by secret military tribunal. You will not find any of these countries on the black list considered by the British Union of Colleges and Universities. Instead, this organization claiming concern for human rights, is considering a boycott against the only democracy in the Middle East - Israel. Under the terms of the boycott, Israeli academics will not be permitted to publish in British journals, or attend academic conferences in the United Kingdom. Joint research between British and Israeli scholars - whether about strategies for peace or cures for disease - would be barred and student exchange programs would immediately come to a halt. The purpose is clear - to punish Israeli scholars and isolate Israeli universities - and these foolish British scholars will shoot themselves in the foot in the name of hate and bigotry. Don?t these so-called educated academics understand that academic boycotts are a loss for everyone? That boycotts of this nature besides being unethical and biased, are counterproductive to human progress and world peace. Many pioneering innovations beneficial to the global community evolve from collaboration with colleagues in other parts of the world. And, some of the most significant discoveries made in Israel are shared gladly with the scientific world community. Some of these recent discoveries are:1. A revolutionary drug developed in Israel holds hope for tens of millions who suffer from schizophrenia.2. A scientist at Ben Gurion University in the Negev developed a biological control for mosquitoes and black flies that cause malaria and blindness, saving the sight and lives of millions of people in Africa and China. 3. Velcade, an effective new cancer drug, is based on research that won two Israeli professors the 2004 Nobel prize. These are but a few of the Israeli scientific contributions to the world for the betterment of humanity. And, this is what the British scientists want to throw away in the name of hoping to destroy the Jewish state of Israel? They want to boycott a cure for cancer? They want to stop drip irrigation - discovered by Israeli scientists? And they want to prevent scientific cooperation between nations? These actions by some British academics, who do not speak for the people of Britain, who want to boycott Israelis, have lost all their credibility. The only explanation to their strange actions could be that some British-born Muslim scientists have infiltrated the British organization and brainwashed the membership to hate Israel. The Israeli response is to educate the world community of these strange actions of the British scientists. For KSCO and KOMY, this is Kay Zwerling. Copyright 2007

Here is Kay Zwerling: Because Global Warming is a myth, and Al Gore is making political points to influence the forthcoming national election, I believe it is timely to do an encore of my commentary broadcast last July 28, 2006.The liberals and other gullibles all are accepting this nonsense, and isn?t it fascinating how a non-truth, repeated often enough, becomes believable. Shades of World War Two, when Hitler floated outrageous lies repeated so often that most people came to believe them. And here it is ? About the recent commentary on Global Warming, there were no definitive answers, only my pragmatic suggestion that we should clean up our world environment no matter what. There were a number of very knowledgeable gentlemen listeners, all scientists, who all responded to me and who based on their extensive research, agreed that Global Warming does not exist. At least one believes it is a political myth fostered by the Democrats. His following letter is fascinating for its comprehensive coverage on the issue. So, having the author’s permission to read it on KSCO, here it is. I have added more relevant issues to this letter. ?Hi Kay, I had a chance to meet you at the Veterans? meeting on Flag Day. I am a Hungarian plumber, electrician, international tour guide, I speak six language, and I am an inventor, etc., and a solid listener to Rush. About Global Warming ? the pro Kyota Agreements supported by the Euro commies and international liberals was never ratified by the Congress during Clinton’s time. It was voted down 100 to nothing, yet the liberal media keeps on bugging Bush for not signing it. He had nothing to do with it. But, the massive liberal brainwashing machine never mentions this vital information. Clinton and Gore had a major defeat on this potential economic suicide. The European Union commies wanted to reduce our economy using this insane Kyoto Agreement to close down hundreds of factories so their European Union economy could be more competitive with ours. They are using the Global Warming scare tactics as a disguised economic attack against the U.S. Bush would not sign it because the world’s worst polluters, China and India, were exempt from cleaning up their pollution. See what a conniving joke this is. And, now Al Gore is getting a peace prize for his documentary called An Inconvenient Truth, which more honestly should be called A Convenient Lie. Remember, the Chinese, Indian, or Mexican smoke is okay for the liberals, only the capitalist smoke bothers them. They just can?t stand the fact that we can live better than the socialist masses. My old friend for over 25 years, from Belgium, doesn?t talk to me anymore since he found out that I voted for Mr. Bush. I?m sad that the basic liberal hateful poisons lost me my friend. What really affects our climate is the sun, volcanoes, and all natural forces. The ozone hole has disappeared by itself. There are periods of sunspot activities, and we had several ice ages, and all the snow and ice had melted away before the first Ford assembly line got into operation, or before the tree huggers got their worthless diplomas from Berkeley. Your a.m. show and Rush have more valuable information than I can get elsewhere. So, stay in good health, Kay, and I?ll keep on listening.Signed: Zoltan Egeresi? And thank you, and kudos to you, Zoltan for your astute and honest clarification. For KSCO and KOMY, this is Kay Zwerling. Copyright 2007

The unknown person who wrote the following is surely a member of my generation, and surely is also a keeper. I grew up with practical parents who had been frightened by The Great Depression in the 1930s. A mother, God love her, who washed aluminum foil after she cooked in it, then re-used it. She was the original recycle queen before they had a name for it. A father who was happier getting old shoes fixed than buying new ones. Their marriage was good. Their dreams focused. Their best friends lived barely a wave away. I can see them now, Dad in his trousers, T-shirt and hat, and Mom in a house dress, lawnmower in one hand and dish towel in the other. It was the time for fixing things, a curtain rod, the kitchen radio, screen door, the oven door, the hem in a dress, things we keep. It was a way of life, and sometimes it made me crazy. All that repairing, eating, renewing -- I wanted just once to be wasteful. Waste meant affluence. Throwing things away meant you knew there would always be more. But, then my father died, and on that clear Fall night in the warmth of the hospital room, I was struck with the pain of learning that sometimes there isn’t anymore. Sometimes what we care about most gets all used up, and goes away, never to return. So, while we have it, it’s best we love it, and care for it, and fix it when it’s broken, and heal it when it’s sick. This is true for marriage, and old cars, and children with bad report cards, and dogs and cats with bad hips, and aging parents and grandparents. We keep them because they’re worth it, because we are worth it. Some things we keep, like a best friend that moved away, or a classmate we grew up with. There are just some things that make life important, like people we know who are special, and so we keep them close. I received this from someone who thinks that I’m a keeper, so I sent it to people I think of in the same way. Now it’s your turn to send this to those people who are keepers in your life. Send it back to the person who sent it to you, if they too are a keeper. Good friends are like stars -- you don’t always see them, but you know they’re always there. Keep them close. This one is called Awesome Senior -- the story is told by a government employee who allegedly witnessed a recent interaction between an elderly woman and an anti-war protester in a metro station in Washington DC. There was a protester on the train platform handing out pamphlets on the evils of America. I politely declined to take one. An elderly woman was behind me getting off an escalator, and a young 20-ish female protester offered her a pamphlet which she politely declined. The young woman put her hand on the old woman’s shoulder, and in a very soft voice said Lady, don’t you care about the children in Iraq? The old woman looked up at her and said Honey, my father died in France during World War II. I lost my husband in Korea, and a son in Viet Nam. All three died so that you could have the right to stand here and badmouth our Country. If you touch me again, I’ll stick this umbrella up your (beep) and open it. God bless America. Here is Kay Zwerling: Once in a while, a truly delightful gem floats around, and this one, every politically concerned American can relate to. Remember, even in the most stressful moments, a bit of humor makes a situation more bearable. With respect to the illegals in our midst, and the decisions our lawmakers are about to make which will decide the direction of our nation for decades to come, this is one such lighter moment. While this letter was sent several months ago, the perks offered to illegals have even increased. This could have been suggested by any sick-and-tired American citizen in any one of the United States to his or her federal representative. It is a great idea. Here it goes: It’s to The Honorable Paul Sarbanes of Maryland.Dear Senator Sarbanes, As a native of Maryland, and an excellent customer of the Internal Revenue Service, I am writing to ask for your assistance. I have contacted the Department of Homeland Security in an effort to determine the process for becoming an illegal alien, and they referred me to you. My primary reason for wishing to change my status from U.S. citizen to illegal alien, stems from the Bill which was recently passed by the Senate, and for which you voted. If my understanding of this Bill’s provision is accurate, as an illegal alien who has been in the United States for five years, all I need to do to become a citizen is to pay a $2,000 fine, and income taxes for three of the last five years. I know a good deal when I see one, and I’m anxious to get the process started before everyone figures it out. Simply put, those of us who have been here legally have had to pay taxes every year, so I am excited about the prospect of avoiding two years of taxes in return for paying a $2,000 fine. Is there any way that I can apply to be illegal retroactively? This would yield an excellent result for me and my family because we paid heavy taxes in the past few years. Additionally, as an illegal alien, I could begin using the local Emergency Room as my primary health care provider. Once I have stopped paying premiums for medical insurance, my accountant figures I could save almost $10,000 a year. Another benefit in gaining illegal status would be that my daughter would receive preferential treatment relative to her law school application as well as in-state tuition rates for many colleges throughout the United States, and I have to pay all her bills. Lastly, I understand that illegal status would relieve me of the burden of renewing my driver’s license and making those burdensome car insurance premiums. This is very important to me, given that I still have college-age children driving my car. If you would provide me with an outline of the process to become illegal (retroactively, of course) and copies of the necessary forms, I would be most appreciative. Thank you for your assistance. Here is Kay Zwerling: If the Democrats win in 2008, you can kiss good-bye to the Country which our Forefathers created. In the past, the rule of law, and the Constitution prevailed. In the past, it was the American citizen who was considered foremost. Now, it’s the illegals that the Democrats defer to. Instead of such deference to illegals, why not put forth effort into deferring to our veterans who are ignored and neglected, whose families struggle desperately financially? These veterans have to beg for the help that they were told they would receive when they entered the military. Recently when the vote came up to make English the official language, Hillary Clinton who expects to be President, and Barack Obama who aspires to be President, both voted against making English the official language. Why? Because they want the votes from the illegals who are possibly going to become legal. How about this -- the three prominent Democratic lawmakers, Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, and Charles Schumer, all voted to give Social Security to illegals, but these pandering politicians did not bother to consult We The People first, and it is our money they are giving away. I’m not certain that this has become a law yet. Don’t you have the uneasy feeling that we are losing our core beliefs, that our Constitution is being trashed, and that we are in danger of losing our Country to greedy scoundrels who will betray our laws for the almighty vote? Isn’t this a bad dream that easily could become a reality if we continue in this direction? And, don’t we see President Bush’s conversion before our very eyes? He has the gall to attack those of us who vigorously object to absorbing another 12 million illegals, maybe more. Isn’t it true that the last Presidential predecessors, Bush 41, Clinton 42, and Bush 43, are totally to blame for this catastrophe? They all deliberately left the borders open and betrayed our Forefathers and our nation, and now we are losing our sovereignty, unless we demand to enforce our present laws, and that means no amnesty. Let’s stop making a mockery of our laws. Twelve million illegals can and should go back the same way they came in, through the open borders, taking their American children with them, then they can apply to come back legally. Our laws should be changed so that if illegals have children here, those children are also illegals. Mexico never has any illegal immigrant problem. If someone sneaks in, they are thrown into jail or quickly escorted back to the border. Meanwhile, Mexico continues to unload their criminals and send them to us. And, saps that we are, we take them in and give them benefits. It’s time for us to develop some real backbone, and say Basta, it’s enough already. It’s time to take back our Country. For KSCO and KOMY, this is Kay Zwerling. Copyright 2007

Download from our website: Download this Podcast here The following is a KSCO commentary. Here is Kay Zwerling: Here’s a story I received recently regarding the Social Security program. Kudos to my friend Michael Olson for some of the material. President Franklin Roosevelt, a Democrat, introduced the Social Security FICA program in 1935. It promised the following:1. That participation in the program would be completely voluntary.2. That the money the participants elected to put into the program would be deducted from their income for tax purposes each year.3. That the money the participants put into the Independent Trust Fund rather than the General Operating Fund therefore would only be used to fund the Social Security retirement program and no other governmental program, and finally -4. That the annuity payments to the retirees would never be taxed as income. Since many of us have paid into FICA for years, and are now receiving a Social security check each month, we are finding that we are getting taxed 85% of the money we paid to the federal government to put away for us. You may be interested in the following: Questions: Which political party took Social Security from the Independent Trust Fund and put it into the General Fund so that Congress could spend it whenever they felt like it? The answer: It was President Lyndon Johnson and the Democratically controlled Congress. Which political party eliminated the income tax deduction for Social Security FICA withholding? It was the Democratic party. Which political party started taxing Social Security annuities? The Democratic party with Al Gore casting the tie breaking deciding vote as President of the Senate while he was Vice President of the U.S. And, the Democrats to this day continue to raid the trust fund and leave IOU’s which they will repay when Hell freezes over, and they all use that money for their own States’ pet projects, like sometimes a bridge that goes nowhere. So, let’s see, which political party decided to start giving annuity payments to immigrants? Jimmy Carter and the Democratic party. Immigrants moved into this country and at age 65 began to receive Social Security payments. The Democratic party gave these payments to them even though they never paid a dime into it. Why did they do that? For their votes, of course. That’s why Democratic politicians are so charitable with our money to all newcomers, so they the politicians can remain in power. Recently to add insult to injury, the Democratic Congress is allowing illegals to receive Social Security. Then, after doing all this lying and thieving, and violating of the original contract of FICA, the Democrats turn around and tell you that the Republicans want to take your Social Security away. The worst part of it is that uninformed citizens believe it. Do you really want the government to take care of everyone including 12 million illegals from the cradle to the grave? What about individual initiative and dignity and self-respect? Do you really want a Democratic leadership in 2008?For KSCO and KOMY, this is Kay Zwerling. Copyright 2007
