Dr. Wallach starts the show discussing the fact that the U.S. now ranks number one in the world in obestiy. Citing statistics that reveal the percentage of obese Americans has doubled in the past 20 years. Also outlining that experts are predicting that 50% of adults in the U.S. will be obese in coming years. Asserting that weight gain and obesity are not problems of excess as normally thought but rather due to nutritional deficiencies.

Doug Winfrey and Dr. Wallach discuss a news article regarding a study on beta blocker heart drugs. The researchers found that taking beta blockers do not does not reduce the risk of future heart attacks or strokes compared to patients who do not take them.
