it is unclear if 42 year-old big-rig driver jose ortiz will be charged in connection with last week’s fatal accident on highway 101 near chualar. 47 year-old marina resident rudy lopez was driving his classic 1962 buick electra southbound on highway 101 (in a line of slowly moving classic cars, that were traveling in the right hand lane) when the big-rig hit the buick from behind. lopez was ejected from his vehicle, and it flipped and landed upside down on top of him. lopez was declared dead at the scene.
