Last weeks major injury accident on Highway 17 was caused by a wrong way DUI driver. The crash happened at about 4:30 on Thursday as the CHP was investigating reports of a wrong driver in the northbound lanes near Mount Hermon, where 40 year old Christine Spindler of Los Angles collided head on with a 69 year old Santa Cruz driver. Spindler suffered minor injuries and was arrested on suspicion of DUI. The other driver was hospitalized with major injuries.
