Hollister police say they arrested six people during two DUI checkpoints they conducted during September.
On the 5th and 26th, police set up checkpoints at different locations in the city. Four residents were arrested for alleged DUI at the checkpoints.
Police say they also issued 56 citations to people driving without a license or on a suspended license. Two more drivers were arrested on DUI charges in other parts of the city on those days.
The six drivers had blood alcohol concentrations of between .08% and .31%. The legal limit is a reading of .08% or higher in California. Several of the drivers had double the legal limit and one of them had a BAC nearly four times the legal limit.
