The trial date for a man accused of the killing of 19 year-old Ariana Zendejas, and the attempted murder of 3 other people, is scheduled to be set tomorrow. The shootings took place in Hollister on the night of August 1st in 2014. Jose Antonio Barajas, who initially fled to Mexico, but was arrested and extradited last summer. The San Benito County Judge hearing the case requested that Barajas, who has been charged with 6 felony counts in connection with the “B Street Shooting”, appear in court tomorrow to set a trial date.
Barajas also faces a kidnapping charge for taking19 year-old Vanessa Flores-Ibarra to Mexico with him, and holding her there. She was later able to run away from Barajas, and surrendered to Border Patrol Authorities in February of 2015.
