13 year-old Christina Marie Williams’s parents took the stand yesterday, at the beginning of the trial of Charles Holifield. Holifield is accused of kidnapping and murdering the young teen back in 1998. Alice and Michael Williams told a bit about their daughter, and the day she disappeared (June 12th) while walking their dog. The family had only been living in their military housing on Fort Ord for 4 months. They described their daughter as a shy, quiet, loving and thoughtful person.
Despite massive searches, it was a plant surveyor who stumbled on Christina’s remains near Imjin Road 7 months after the 13 year-old went missing.
Holifield is currently serving a 3rd-strike sentence of 25 years-to-life for an attempted kidnapping, and making criminal threats against a woman just 3 months after Christina Marie Williams was kidnapped. Holifield has been convicted of sexually assaulting (or raping) 2 teens between 1 year before Williams was kidnapped, and 5 years after. All of the attacks took place on Fort Ord property.
