The National Weather Service in Monterey has issued a High Surf Advisory for the immediate coast of Santa Cruz and Monterey Counties through 4AM Friday.
– Northwest swells of 13-16ft will continue to impact the coast with breaking waves of 18-24ft possible.
– Dangerously strong rip currents, high wave run-up, and beach erosion are all also possible.
Whenever swells are this big, the ocean becomes a lot more dangerous so there is a risk of rip currents, sneaker waves and large shore breaks.
