The Community Health Center in Hollister is now energy-independent, thanks to a recent installation of a solar-powered micro grid. 120 solar panels were installed. In the event of a power and solar outage, this system allows the facility to operate for up to ten days. The $1.7 million project was funded in part by the San Benito Health Foundation, as well as an assortment of grants and subsidies.
