A Greenfield family escaped a house fire Wednesday afternoon when a neighbor warned them about smoke coming from their house.
Residents told KION Television that they were sitting in the middle part of the house watching TV when neighbors ran over and banged on the door, saying there was a fire at the back of the house.
The American Red Cross is providing assistance to the family. Firefighters are mopping up at the scene to prevent more flames, and the cause is still under investigation.
