A Gilroy man was 1-of-6 people indicted this week on conspiracy and fraud charges. 52-year-old jesus chavez is accused of being part of a scheme that deceived banks, so that the banks would make home loans to people that could not afford them. By taking part in the fraud, chavez and others allegedly pocketed more than 1-million-dollars in real estate fees. The indictments were handed down on Wednesday, by a federal grand jury in san jose. The defendants will face 32-counts of bank fraud, conspiracy to commit bank fraud, and making a false statement to a bank.
