(15:43) GILROY-A Gilroy organization hosted a Christmas event for homeless families on Friday. The Compassion Center server tamale and prime rib dinners to nearly 120 people. During the luncheon Santa handed out presents to the children of more than 40 homeless families. The gifts and meals were donated by the community of Gilroy. This year the Compassion Center has helped more than 500 of the estimated 1500 homeless people in south Santa Clara county.
