A festive evening at the state capitol last night where a Gilroy girl helped light the Christmas tree… along with governor Newsome and his family.
Ten-year-old Nayeli Lemus has down syndrome and was chosen by the California Department of developmental services and the San Andreas regional center to light the tree. The 66-foot-tall tree is adorned with over 500 hand made ornaments made by kids and adults with developmental disabilities.
