12/23/05 A Moonlit Night at KSCO
A late-night shot of the KSCO parking lot

12/21/05 KSCO Signage
KSCO sign from the parking lot.

12/21/05 KSCO Van
The custom painted Van adorns the parking lot. It is used in promotions and live broadcasts and is the vehicle that starts the Wharf to Wharf race every July.

12/21/05 Front office
There is a lot of information that moves through the station and there has to be a starting point and this office is it,as you can see. The office acts as a clearing house for all calls, and paper trails. We call screen from this office, deal with the public and the listeners and it makes for a very busy workspace.

12/21/05 Every office has one
Not only is the water cooler here, but much needed coffee. Also, many varieties of food show up here all the time and are readily consumed with gusto.

12/21/05 Michael Olson's office
As General Sales Manager, Michael Olson runs a busy but very tidy and organised office. He can always find what he needs, even if it is temporarily on the floor.

12/21/05 Fork in the road
Many people are not aware how huge this building is. Many modern stations are just a cupboard in the hallway, but not so, KSCO. This shows the entrance to the talk studio on the left and on the right, you move forward to the front office, the hub of the station.

12/21/05 Talk Studio
This is the board and call screening equipment in the talk studio, it looks intimidating but, if Rosemary can master it, anyone can.

12/21/05 On Air Mic.
This is the Host microphone in the on air studio, the mic-flag says it all.

12/21/05 Original Microphone
This is an original RCA dx 77 Ribbon Microphone, still in regaular use.

12/21/05 Vintage KSCO RCA Microphone
We have often mic'd as many as 30 plus people with just this mic and it sounds great.

12/21/05 Continuing the look down the hall
In this area, we have a huge notice board on the right with a permanent staff schedule and vacation postings, although some messages there are a little inappropriate. Straight ahead is the control room and to the left is the production room, where you will find Billy utilising his knobs.

12/21/05 Production Room
This room is where Doug Winfrey broadcasts traffic and sports on weekday mornings for Good Morning Monterey Bay. Bill Graff uses this room for the rest of the day, to image the station and create our commercials. As you can imagine, he is a wiz with knobs.

12/21/05 KSCO Control Room
This is the "nerve center" of the station and it controls which studio is on or off the air. Our fabulous board operators, Don, Ryan, Phil, Chris, Scott, Rick, Gene, Skip, Michael, David and Rick work in this studio, read the weather and play commercials etc. Their job is complicated and we thank them for doing a great job.

12/21/05 Another Hall photo.
First window on the left, is Bill's production room, then the news room and the window on the right is the control room. FYI the control room is the only studio that can "see" the news room, production room, and talk studio.
