The freezing temperatures in the area over the last couple days have heralded the end of many summer crops such as strawberries, zucchini and green beans. Unfortunately, the fast change in temperatures means that at least one local farm lost 60 percent of their crops when they frosted over. The UFW is asking growers to make scheduled changes to avoid having their workers pick in freezing conditions.
