Free SAT tests were Wednesday at high schools across the Monterey Peninsula Unified School District. This is the first time free tests have been offered during the school day for all eligible seniors.
To qualify, students had to be eligible to apply to a four-year university and be on track to meet all their A to G subject requirements.
At Monterey High School 80% of students were eligible to take the SAT Wednesday and of the 320 who registered for the test 300 showed up to take the exam. That means 75% of seniors took the exam. In the last, most seniors did not take the SAT.
