Red Cross volunteers are going door to door in some areas, to install smoke detectors in people’s homes in Santa Cruz, Monterey, and San Benito counties. They are specifically targeting homes in mobile home parks because typically those residents have less than 2 minutes to safely get out of their homes once a fire erupts….and those fires can spread from home to home very rapidly.
