A man has been sentenced to 3 years in a federal prison, because he sold a toxic fertilizer as a diet pill. Scott Edward Cavell, of Sacramento, acknowledged that he helped market the drug (in pill form) as a supplement. He was sentenced for the interstate commerce of mis-branded drugs. Although D.N.P. is used as a fertilizer, and as a pesticide, it is not approved for ‘human consumption’, because it is deemed “too toxic” by the Food And Drug Administration.
