UC Santa Cruz police released a felon from custody last week after she provided a false identity. Officials say 27-year-old Emily Kathleen Barnett and a male accomplice were detained January 26th, in connection with a series of burglaries at UCSC. Barnett, who is wanted for three felony warrants, posed as 28-year-old Jessica Bella from Ben Lomond. She provided no driver’s license or other ID. After receiving medical attention, Barnett was cited and released. Bella went to police Thursday to clarify the situation. Barnett is still at large and has been described as 5’3” and 115 pounds with brown hair and green eyes. Anyone with information is to contact UCSC police.
