WATSONVILLE – A Watsonville doctor, accused of negligence, inappropriate prescribing and violating a previous probation, has agreed to 3 more years of probation. Doctor Jose Felix Huerta-Ibarra admitted he prescribed several narcotics to patients in 2011 without investigating the cause of their pain. Huerta-ibarra must now notify all medical facilities, insurers, and physician registries, where he has “privileges”, and he is required to take 3 courses, and hire a physician to monitor his practice. His patients charts will also regularly be monitored.
