(16:45)SANTA CRUZ- Santa Cruz police are investigating a shooting that occurred early Saturday. Authorities say that shortly after 12 a.m. patrol units were dispatched to the area of Cathcart and Cedar Streets following reports of gunfire. On scene officers located a 27 year old victim with bullet wounds to a hand and lower back. No one else was injured in the shooting, however a nearby window was sot out and adjacent buildings were struck by gunfire. The victim was transported to a bay area trauma center in stable condition. The shooting is being investigated as gang related.
