With recent natural disaster events, people are having to evacuate, as well as their animals.
Sabrina Ashjian, State Director for the Humane Society of California, offers these tips for evacuating our four-legged friends…
- Pack food, water, medication for five days per pet.
- Bowls, can openers (if canned food)
- Vaccination history, especially if having to stay where proof of vaccination is required. (such as an animal evacuation shelter)
- Pet First-Aid Kit
- Grooming Supplies
Ashjian went on to recommend also making a feeding schedule, packing sturdy leashes, carriers, current photos, and an allergy list for your pets.
