DUI cases in Monterey County increased by a third between October 2018 and September 2019. That’s something the Monterey DA’s office is trying to change.
During the last fiscal year, there were 2,286 DUI cases handled by the Monterey County DA’s office. That’s up 33 percent from the 1,715 cases during 2017-2018. Seven of the 2019 cases involved fatalities.
