DMV employee convicted 062918 0742 CM

A former Salinas Department of Motor Vehicles employee was found guilty of identity fraud after he conspired to issue fake driver’s licenses. Robert Turchin worked at the DMV from 2012 to 2015 and was responsible with testing applicants who wanted to drive 18-wheel tractor trailers and commercial buses. He worked with two other department employees to access the DMV database to change test results. Turchin was convicted on three counts of fraud and one count of conspiracy to commit identity fraud. He faces up to five years for the conspiracy charge and up to 15 years for the fraud charges.
