December 9, 2015: Light Brown Apple Moth

(20:38) MONTEREY BAY AREA – Environmental and health groups are happy that an appeals court has thrown out the state’s pesticide program, that was designed to control the Light Brown Apple Moth. Former Santa Cruz city councilman Tony Madrigal, and other Monterey Bay Area plaintiffs, contended that the pesticide campaign violated the California Environmental Quality Act. The ruling, by the appeals court, showed that the state’s analysis was, in fact, “fatally defective”,  because it “failed to study a range of reasonable alternatives”.
